Chelsea Prepares to Offload Eleven Players After Club World Cup Victory

João Félix, Sterling, and Nkunku headline Stamford Bridge exodus as summer overhaul begins

Chelsea is preparing a major squad overhaul this summer, with up to 11 players set to leave following the club’s recent Club World Cup triumph. The move is part of a strategic reshuffle aimed at reducing payroll expenses and generating significant transfer revenue, as confirmed by Marca.

Mass Exodus Underway at Stamford Bridge

Manager Enzo Maresca, recently appointed to steer the club into a new era, is reportedly behind the decision to clean house. The board has compiled a definitive departure list, with plans to offload multiple high-profile names during the July–August transfer window.

Among the players listed for departure are João Félix, whose loan spell is not expected to be renewed, and Raheem Sterling, who has failed to meet expectations since his high-profile move from Manchester City.

Chelsea Targets Profit and Payroll Relief

The west London club aims to cut costs and balance books after several seasons of lavish spending. Reducing the wage bill and generating multi-million euro revenues from player sales are top priorities, especially after Financial Fair Play warnings.

In total, the following players are expected to leave the squad:

  • João Félix
  • Christopher Nkunku
  • Raheem Sterling
  • Ben Chilwell
  • Renato Veiga
  • Axel Disasi
  • Carney Chukwuemeka
  • Lesley Ugochukwu
  • Armando Broja
  • Tyrique George
  • Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

While Nkunku and Chilwell have struggled with injuries, others like Broja and Dewsbury-Hall are considered saleable assets that could attract solid offers across the Premier League and Europe.

Club Looks to Reset After Trophy Win

Despite lifting the Club World Cup, Chelsea’s domestic form has been inconsistent. With Enzo Maresca now taking charge, the club views this summer as the ideal opportunity to reset its long-term strategy, focusing on younger, high-potential players aligned with his tactical approach.

No official transfer fees have been disclosed yet, but insiders expect a collective sale value easily exceeding €200 million, should Chelsea offload most names on the list.
