Arsenal and Crystal Palace Discuss Eberechi Eze-Leandro Trossard Swap Deal with Cash Involved
Arsenal and Crystal Palace could reach a deal with a player swap plus a sum involving Eberechi Eze

Gunners target Eze to boost attacking creativity; Trossard could head to Selhurst Park

Arsenal are exploring a potential player swap deal with Crystal Palace that would involve Leandro Trossard and a cash sum in exchange for Eberechi Eze, according to reports from Transfersdotcom. The move comes as Mikel Arteta seeks to strengthen his attacking midfield options ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Arsenal Ready to Part Ways with Trossard

Leandro Trossard, 29, is reportedly valued at around €20 million (R$129 million) by the Arsenal board, per The Guardian. Despite scoring 10 goals in 56 matches last season, the Belgian international has not fully secured a consistent starting role under Arteta.

With interest from other Premier League and European clubs, Arsenal are now open to negotiating his exit, and Crystal Palace appear to be the most serious contender particularly if the deal brings Eze the other way.

Eberechi Eze’s Rising Market Value and Versatility

Eberechi Eze, 26, has become one of the Premier League’s most sought-after creative players. Signed by Crystal Palace in 2020 from QPR, he enjoyed a standout 2024/25 season, scoring 15 goals in 43 appearances.

According to Transfermarkt, Eze holds a market value of €55 million (R$355 million) and is admired by top clubs including Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich.

His positional versatility is a major asset:

  • Attacking midfielder: 140 games | 35 goals | 21 assists
  • Left midfielder: 55 games | 12 goals | 8 assists
  • Central midfielder: 45 games | 9 goals | 3 assists
  • Also played as left winger, center forward, right winger, and right midfielder

Tactical Fit: Could Eze Thrive Under Mikel Arteta?

If the deal goes through, Eze would offer Arteta an attacking profile similar to Martin Ødegaard but with additional flexibility and flair from wide positions. Arsenal are looking to improve their creativity and depth in the final third, and Eze’s ability to play multiple roles makes him a tactical asset.

Arsenal are also monitoring Viktor Gyökeres as a forward option, but Eze’s arrival would focus on midfield dynamism and transitional play.

Trossard’s Versatility Also a Draw for Palace

Trossard, despite his likely departure from North London, is still considered a reliable and versatile attacker. For Palace, he could fill the void if Eze exits, having played in six different positions, including:

  • Left wing
  • Attacking midfielder
  • Center forward
  • Second striker
  • Left midfielder
  • Right winger

Negotiations Ongoing — Decision Expected Soon

The two clubs are currently in advanced discussions, with the structure of the cash-plus-player deal still being worked out. If agreed, it could be one of the most strategic moves of the summer transfer window.
