Chelsea Demand £50 Million from Arsenal for Noni Madueke

Winger has personal agreement with Gunners, transfer could follow World Cup
Chelsea have placed a £50 million price tag on winger Noni Madueke, as Arsenal intensify efforts to bring the player to the Emirates Stadium. According to The Telegraph, the Blues are open to doing business, despite interest coming from a direct Premier League rival.
Madueke, 22, is reportedly eager to join Mikel Arteta’s side and has already reached a pre-agreement with Arsenal over personal terms. However, a deal between the two London clubs has yet to be finalized.
Chelsea Take Initiative
Chelsea, now under the leadership of manager Enzo Maresca, made the first move to accelerate negotiations by officially setting an asking price on Monday (6 July). The club hopes that setting clear terms will facilitate a quicker resolution and reduce drawn-out discussions.
While Chelsea are not actively pushing Madueke out, they are prepared to authorize a sale for £50 million, a figure they believe reflects the winger’s potential and current market value. The Blues are also mindful of generating profit on recent investments as they reshape the squad under Maresca.
Arsenal Focused on Multiple Targets
Arsenal, meanwhile, remain interested in Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, and may delay a final push for Madueke until after progress is made on that front. However, with Madueke eager to make the switch, the Gunners are expected to return with a formal offer in the coming weeks.
There has been no official response yet from Arsenal regarding Chelsea’s £50 million valuation. The fee could be a sticking point, especially considering the Gunners are managing a tight transfer budget and competing interests.
Madueke’s Recent Form and Outlook
Madueke joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 and showed flashes of quality, but struggled for consistency amid the club’s turbulent season. Despite that, his talent remains highly regarded, particularly by Arsenal’s scouting department.
If a deal is completed after the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, as anticipated, Madueke could become one of the first major Premier League transfers of the post-tournament window.
