Modric could leave Real Madrid for Milan sooner than expected

After 12 legendary years at Real Madrid, Luka Modrić is preparing for a new chapter and he wants it to start sooner than expected.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Croatian icon is so eager to begin his career at AC Milan that he’s planning to cut his vacation short and start training as early as late July.
The 38-year-old midfielder, currently wrapping up his duties with Real Madrid at the Club World Cup, could finalize the move immediately after the tournament ends. Madrid faces Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals this Saturday (July 5), with a potential final scheduled for July 13.
Early Debut in Serie A?
Modrić reportedly wants to be match-ready for Milan’s Serie A opener, expected in the week of August 23–24. While most players receive a 28-day break post-tournament, the veteran star is planning to return to training ahead of schedule a testament to his professionalism and hunger for new challenges.
What to Expect at Milan
Under Massimiliano Allegri, Modrić is expected to take on a deep-lying playmaker role, helping organize play in front of the defense similar to his duties in Madrid. The Italian manager sees him as a tactical anchor, bringing composure, vision, and experience to a youthful Milan midfield.
End of an Era at Madrid
Modrić’s impact at Real Madrid is unquestionable. Since joining the club in 2012, he has made over 61 appearances in the last season alone, contributing 4 goals and 9 assists. He leaves behind a legacy of Champions League glory, domestic dominance, and countless memories in white.
As the curtain falls on one of Madrid’s most elegant midfield dynasties, fans across Europe are watching closely: Will Modrić bow out with another trophy?
