Barcelona Femení could earn a financial windfall during the 2025 UEFA Women’s Euro Cup, thanks to a UEFA compensation scheme that rewards clubs for releasing players to international duty.

With 16 Barça players set to participate in the tournament, the club could pocket up to €315,000 a reflection of both its dominant presence in European football and the growing economic value of the women’s game.

Barcelona’s Dominance in Women’s Football

Since the 2011/12 season, FC Barcelona Femení has risen to become Spain’s most successful club, winning 10 Liga F titles in 14 seasons. The Catalan side has also been a mainstay in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, powered by a star-studded squad featuring:

  • Alexia Putellas
  • Aitana Bonmatí
  • Ewa Pajor (new signing)

This depth and quality are now paying off not just on the pitch but in the bank account.

How Barcelona Will Earn from the Women’s Euro

UEFA’s benefits program provides financial compensation to clubs that release players for the tournament:

  • €20,000 per player per day (for group stage participants)
  • €37,000 per player if the team reaches the final

With 16 players representing various national teams 10 of whom play for Spain the payout could be substantial:

Estimated earnings: Up to €315,000 (~R$1.86 million)
(Assuming some players reach the final)

Spain Among the Favorites
