River Plate and Monterrey draw in a very busy game at the Club World Cup

In a hard-fought match, River Plate-ARG and Monterrey-MEX drew 0-0 in the second round of the Club World Cup group stage . The clash took place on Saturday night (21), at the Rose Bowl Stadium, in Los Angeles (USA).
Earlier, in the other Group E match, Inter Milan-ITA beat Urawa Reds-JAP 2-1 . The Argentines are now top of the group with four points. Monterrey, who have two, are in third place and still have a chance of advancing.
River and Monterrey play a close game
The World Cup saw a match with a “Libertadores atmosphere” this Saturday, with a lot of competition and several fouls. The Mexicans started with a chance in Canales’ attempt, which was saved by Armani. On the rebound, Arteaga sent the ball over the bar.

Castaño stopped a counterattack and was sent off for a second yellow card. Despite attempts in the final minutes, the score remained unchanged. Thus, River and Monterrey will go into the final round with a chance of qualifying and also of being relegated. The same goes for Inter Milan, while Urawa Reds is already eliminated.
