Jonas Rondbjerg’s Girlfriend: Is He Dating Anyone?

Jonas Rondbjerg previously confirmed that he was in a romantic relationship, although he did not publicly disclose his girlfriend’s identity.

In an interview published by Swedish sports website SvenskaFans on March 4, 2018, Rondbjerg was asked several questions about his personal preferences and everyday life.

When asked what made him happy, the Danish hockey player humorously answered that it was his girlfriend. He also jokingly mentioned his girlfriend when asked what made him angry.

The interview established that Rondbjerg had a girlfriend at that time, but it did not reveal her name, occupation, nationality or other identifying details.

Since that interview, his public appearances and media coverage have primarily focused on his hockey career with the Vegas Golden Knights, Henderson Silver Knights and Denmark’s national team.

There is insufficient reliable public information to establish whether he remains in the same relationship or is dating someone else.

Who Is Jonas Rondbjerg’s Girlfriend?

The identity of Jonas Rondbjerg’s girlfriend has not been reliably established through major sports publications or official team interviews.

His romantic relationships remain among the aspects of his life that receive relatively little public attention.

There is no verified public announcement confirming that Jonas Rondbjerg is married.

His official hockey biographies and available interviews do not establish that he has a wife or provide details about a wedding ceremony.

Jonas Rondbjerg’s Children: Does He Have Any Kids?

There is no publicly verified information confirming that Jonas Rondbjerg has children.

The Danish forward has not made a widely documented announcement about becoming a father, and his official NHL and international hockey biographies do not identify any sons or daughters.

Jonas Rondbjerg’s Parents: Who Are His Father and Mother?

Jonas Rondbjerg grew up in the Rungsted area of Denmark, where his parents supported his development as a young hockey player.

Although his mother and father have been mentioned in interviews, their full names and professional occupations have not been reliably established through the public sources reviewed for this biography.

In a March 2018 interview with SvenskaFans, Rondbjerg explained that his parents were not particularly involved in ice hockey themselves and did not possess extensive knowledge of the sport.

Nevertheless, they supported their son’s ambitions and accompanied him during important milestones.

Jonas Rondbjerg’s Father

Jonas Rondbjerg’s father was part of the family environment that supported his development through Danish and Swedish hockey.

Although Rondbjerg followed his older brother Mathias into the sport, his parents did not have a significant competitive hockey background.

During his childhood, Jonas played for Rungsted Ishockey Klub, where he progressed through the organization’s youth teams.

He eventually developed into a promising young player and began competing at the senior level while still in his teenage years.

His father’s support became particularly significant when Rondbjerg moved to Sweden to continue his development with the Växjö Lakers organization.

The move offered opportunities to train and compete in a more demanding professional environment.

One of the family’s most memorable experiences occurred in June 2017, when Jonas attended the NHL Entry Draft at the United Center in Chicago.

According to his SvenskaFans interview, both of his parents accompanied him to the event.

They were present when the Vegas Golden Knights selected him in the third round with the 65th overall pick.

Jonas Rondbjerg’s Mother

Jonas Rondbjerg’s mother has also supported his hockey journey from Denmark to professional competition in North America.

She was among the relatives who accompanied him to the 2017 NHL Entry Draft in Chicago.

The event represented a significant achievement for the family because Jonas had attracted the attention of an NHL organization despite growing up in a country where ice hockey receives less attention than sports such as football.

His mother and father witnessed the announcement of his selection by the Vegas Golden Knights.

In the 2018 interview with SvenskaFans, Rondbjerg explained that his parents were not deeply involved in hockey and that he did not spend much time discussing technical aspects of the sport with them.

Instead, he relied on his coaches, teammates and representatives for much of his professional guidance.

His comments suggest that his parents’ support was primarily personal rather than based on direct coaching experience.

Although he has publicly mentioned his mother, her full name, occupation and educational background have not been consistently documented in reliable reporting.

Mathias Røndbjerg was born on January 21, 1997, in Rungsted, Denmark. He is approximately two years and two months older than Jonas.

Like his younger brother, Mathias developed his hockey skills through Rungsted Ishockey Klub.

He became a defenseman and progressed through Denmark’s youth hockey system before moving into senior professional competition.

Mathias represented Rungsted Seier Capital in Denmark’s top professional league, the Metal Ligaen.

He also played for Kristianstads IK in Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan.

His achievements include helping Rungsted win the Danish championship and domestic cup during the 2018–19 season.

Mathias has also represented Denmark at international junior competitions and participated in senior national team activities.

According to Rungsted Seier Capital’s official history, Mathias and fellow defenseman Nicolai Weichel formed one of the youngest defensive pairings used by the club during the 2014–15 season.

During that same campaign, Jonas attracted attention by becoming the youngest goal scorer in the history of Denmark’s Metal Ligaen at the age of 15.

The brothers therefore made important contributions to their hometown club during their teenage years.

How Mathias Røndbjerg Influenced Jonas’s Hockey Career

Mathias Røndbjerg played a defining role in introducing his younger brother to ice hockey.

In his 2018 SvenskaFans interview, Jonas explained that he became interested in the sport because of Mathias.

As the younger brother, Jonas grew up watching Mathias participate in hockey and eventually wanted to follow the same path.

Both brothers developed through the Rungsted organization, allowing them to share an important part of their childhood sporting experiences.

Although they eventually pursued professional careers in different countries, their shared interest in hockey remained an important family connection.

Mathias continued playing professionally in Denmark after spending time in Sweden.

In May 2025, Rungsted Seier Capital officially announced that Mathias had signed a contract extension for the 2025–26 season.

His continued association with the club highlights the family’s lasting connection to the hockey organization where both brothers began their careers.

During the 2014–15 season, he became the youngest player to score a goal in Denmark’s Metal Ligaen, achieving the milestone at just 15 years old.

His performances attracted interest from teams outside Denmark.

He subsequently moved to Sweden to join the Växjö Lakers organization, where he continued developing his offensive and defensive abilities.

During his time in Sweden, Rondbjerg competed in junior hockey and eventually earned opportunities with the senior team in the Swedish Hockey League.

He became known for his responsible defensive play, skating ability and work ethic.

His development eventually attracted the attention of NHL scouts.

Jonas Rondbjerg’s NHL Draft: A Special Family Moment

One of the defining moments of Jonas Rondbjerg’s career occurred during the 2017 NHL Entry Draft in Chicago.

Both of his parents traveled with him to attend the event at the United Center.

The Vegas Golden Knights selected Rondbjerg in the third round with the 65th overall pick.

He became one of the earliest draft selections in the history of the expansion franchise.

During his interview with SvenskaFans the following year, Rondbjerg recalled the excitement and uncertainty of waiting to hear his name announced.

He explained that he had met with several NHL organizations before the draft and could not be certain which team would select him.

After being drafted by Vegas, he met with team representatives and received information about the organization’s development camp.

Sharing that experience with his parents made the occasion especially meaningful.

The selection also represented an important milestone for Danish ice hockey, demonstrating that young players from the country could attract attention from NHL organizations.

Jonas Rondbjerg’s Professional Career and International Success

Following the 2017 NHL Draft, Jonas Rondbjerg continued his development in Sweden with the Växjö Lakers.

He signed a three-year entry-level NHL contract with the Vegas Golden Knights in May 2019.

However, injuries delayed his progress during the early stages of his North American professional career.

After undergoing two operations, he temporarily returned to Denmark to play for Rungsted Seier Capital during the 2020–21 season.

He subsequently returned to North America and developed into an important player for the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League.

Rondbjerg made his NHL debut on October 14, 2021, against the Los Angeles Kings.

His appearance made him the fifteenth Danish player to compete in the NHL.

He continued splitting time between the Vegas Golden Knights and Henderson Silver Knights while establishing himself as a reliable defensive forward.

His international career has also been significant.

Rondbjerg represented Denmark at multiple IIHF World Junior Championships and later earned opportunities with the senior national team.

In September 2024, he helped Denmark qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics by competing in an Olympic qualification tournament.

In January 2026, the Henderson Silver Knights confirmed that Rondbjerg had been selected for Denmark’s men’s ice hockey team at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.

The selection represented another major achievement in his career and demonstrated his importance to Danish hockey.

During the 2025–26 season, Rondbjerg also served as an alternate captain for Henderson, reflecting the organization’s confidence in his leadership abilities.

His journey from Rungsted to professional hockey in North America highlights the influence of his early family environment, particularly his older brother’s involvement in the sport.
