Keon Ellis is an American professional basketball player whose journey to the NBA began in Eustis, Florida. Born on January 8, 2000, the Brooklyn Nets shooting guard grew up in a family that has supported his development throughout his basketball career. His parents are Jeremy Evans and Montea Ellis, and he has three siblings: Antwon Clayton, Kavon Ellis and Mone’k Clayton.
After winning consecutive state championships at Leesburg High School, Ellis played college basketball for Florida SouthWestern State College and the University of Alabama. He entered the NBA in 2022 with the Sacramento Kings before later playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers and joining the Brooklyn Nets in July 2026. Away from the court, fans are interested in his personal life, particularly his girlfriend, children, parents and siblings. Here is what is publicly known about Keon Ellis’s family.
Keon Ellis’s Girlfriend: Is He Dating Anyone?
Keon Ellis has not publicly confirmed having a girlfriend. Although he has gained recognition for his defensive abilities and performances in the NBA, he has generally kept his romantic relationships away from public attention.
His official basketball biographies and interviews have focused primarily on his career, basketball development and family background rather than his dating life.
There is currently no reliable public information identifying a girlfriend or confirming that Ellis is involved in a romantic relationship.
Furthermore, there have been no credible announcements establishing that he is married or engaged.
While Ellis maintains a public presence through basketball-related activities and social media, his current relationship status remains unconfirmed. Without reliable information, it would be inaccurate to describe him as either single or involved in a relationship.
Does Keon Ellis Have Children?
There is no publicly verified information indicating that Keon Ellis has children. The Brooklyn Nets guard has not announced becoming a father, and his official NBA and college basketball biographies do not identify any sons or daughters.
At 26 years old, Ellis has established himself as a professional basketball player after overcoming the disappointment of going undrafted in 2022.
Although he has spoken about the importance of his family, those public discussions have primarily involved his parents and relatives who supported his basketball career.
Consequently, there is no confirmed information regarding children or plans to start a family of his own.
Keon Ellis’s Parents
Keon Ellis’s parents are Jeremy Evans and Montea Ellis. Their identities are confirmed in his official University of Alabama basketball biography and the NBA’s player biography.
Ellis grew up in Eustis, Florida, and later attended Leesburg High School, where he developed into a successful high school basketball player.
Although relatively little information has been published about his parents’ professional backgrounds, his mother has appeared in reports documenting important moments in his basketball career.
Keon Ellis’s Father: Jeremy Evans
Jeremy Evans is Keon Ellis’s father, according to official basketball records published by the University of Alabama and the NBA.
Unlike his son, Jeremy has maintained a private public profile, and there is limited verified information about his occupation, education or personal background.
There are also no reliable details establishing whether Jeremy played competitive basketball or pursued another sporting career.
Because he has generally remained outside the media spotlight, much of the publicly available information about the Ellis family concerns Keon’s athletic development rather than his father’s professional activities.
Nevertheless, Jeremy Evans is consistently identified as one of Keon’s parents in official player records, including the Sacramento Kings’ media guide.
It is important not to confuse him with other athletes who share the same name, as the available sources do not establish any such connection.
Keon Ellis’s Mother: Montea Ellis
Montea Ellis is Keon Ellis’s mother and one of the most publicly documented members of his immediate family.
She has supported her son’s basketball journey from his childhood in Florida through his college and professional career.
Her involvement became visible in February 2024 when Eustis Middle School retired Keon’s number 14 jersey in recognition of his basketball achievements.
According to a report published by Lake & Sumter Style Magazine on February 9, 2024, Montea and one of Keon’s brothers attended the ceremony celebrating his accomplishments.
Ellis had played for the Eustis Mustangs between 2012 and 2014 before progressing to high school basketball and eventually the NBA.
The jersey retirement was particularly meaningful because it recognized his achievements in the community where he grew up.
Montea has also remained someone Keon communicates with during important moments in his professional career.
In February 2026, Ellis told the Cleveland Cavaliers’ official website that he had been speaking with his mother shortly before learning he would be traded from Sacramento to Cleveland.
He explained that he had anticipated a possible trade and discussed the situation with her. Soon after their conversation, he received a call from the Kings’ general manager confirming the move.
The story provides a glimpse into the continuing relationship between Ellis and his mother, even as his professional career has taken him to different NBA cities.
However, Montea’s occupation and other personal details have not been extensively documented in reliable public sources.
Keon Ellis’s Siblings: Does He Have Brothers and Sisters?
Keon Ellis has three publicly documented siblings: two brothers, Antwon Clayton and Kavon Ellis, and a sister, Mone’k Clayton.
Their names appear in his official University of Alabama biography and in NBA media records.
One of his brothers, Antwon, also pursued college basketball, making athletics an important connection between members of the family.
Antwon Clayton: Keon Ellis’s Older Brother
Antwon Clayton is Keon Ellis’s older brother and a former college basketball player who represented Jacksonville University in Florida.
Some Alabama and NBA biographies spell his first name as Antwan, while Jacksonville University’s official player records use Antwon.
Antwon grew up in Eustis, Florida, and attended Eustis High School, where he established himself as a talented basketball forward.
During high school, he was a two-year starter and served as a team captain. Jacksonville University’s official biography reports that he averaged 10 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and three steals per game during his senior season.
His performances earned him the team’s Defensive Player of the Year award.
Antwon subsequently joined Jacksonville University, where he played for the Dolphins from the 2014–15 season through 2017–18.
During his freshman season, he earned Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team recognition after making an immediate impact as a rebounder and shot blocker.
He averaged 5.2 rebounds and approximately 1.2 blocks per game during that campaign.
Across his college career, Antwon appeared in 100 games, averaging 4.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest.
His experience competing at the NCAA Division I level demonstrates that Keon is not the only member of his family to achieve success in organized basketball.
Although some biographical accounts mention Antwon continuing to play basketball after college, reliable information about his subsequent professional activities remains limited.
Kavon Ellis: Keon Ellis’s Brother
Kavon Ellis is another of Keon Ellis’s brothers. His name is confirmed in Keon’s official Alabama basketball biography and subsequent NBA records.
Unlike Keon and Antwon, Kavon has not received widespread attention through national sports coverage.
There is currently limited verified information about his education, occupation, age or involvement in competitive athletics.
Although he belongs to a family with connections to basketball, there is insufficient reliable evidence to establish whether Kavon has pursued the sport professionally or at college level.
As a result, most publicly available references to Kavon identify him through his family relationship with the Brooklyn Nets guard.
Mone’k Clayton: Keon Ellis’s Sister
Mone’k Clayton is Keon Ellis’s sister and the only sister identified in his official University of Alabama and NBA biographies.
Like Kavon, Mone’k has maintained a comparatively private public profile.
Her name appears in official records documenting Keon’s immediate family, but detailed information about her education, occupation and personal activities has not been reliably published.
There is also no confirmed public information establishing whether she has participated in organized basketball or other competitive sports.
While her brother’s NBA career has brought wider attention to the Ellis family, Mone’k has generally remained outside the public spotlight.
How Keon Ellis’s Family Supported His Basketball Career
Keon Ellis’s rise to the NBA was the result of years of development through different levels of American basketball.
Growing up in Eustis, Florida, he began developing his basketball abilities at a young age and later attended Eustis High School before transferring to Leesburg High School.
At Leesburg, Ellis became an important member of a successful basketball program under head coach Sean Campbell.
He helped the Yellow Jackets win consecutive Florida Class 6A state championships in 2017 and 2018.
During his senior season, he averaged 18.1 points per game and helped Leesburg finish with a 29–1 record.
Despite his high school achievements, Ellis was not considered a major national college recruit. He began his college career at Florida SouthWestern State College, where he spent two seasons between 2018 and 2020.
During the 2019–20 season, he averaged 18.1 points per game and earned NJCAA All-American recognition.
His performances attracted the attention of several NCAA Division I programs, eventually leading him to transfer to the University of Alabama.
At Alabama, Ellis developed a reputation as a versatile defender capable of guarding multiple positions while contributing as an outside shooter.
During the 2021–22 season, he averaged 12.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game and earned a place on the SEC All-Defensive Team.
Although he was not selected in the 2022 NBA Draft, Ellis signed a two-way contract with the Sacramento Kings.
He initially spent time with both Sacramento and its NBA G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, before earning a standard NBA contract in February 2024.
His progress continued during the 2024–25 season, when he appeared in 80 games and averaged 8.3 points per contest.
In February 2026, Ellis was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he continued contributing as a perimeter defender.
On July 6, 2026, the Brooklyn Nets officially announced his arrival on a two-year contract reportedly worth $18 million.
