Dallen Bentley is an American professional football tight end who plays for the Denver Broncos in the National Football League (NFL). Born on December 31, 2000, in Taylorsville, Utah, he played college football at Snow College and the University of Utah before being selected by Denver in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Beyond his achievements on the football field, Bentley has a remarkable personal story involving family support, religious faith and perseverance through serious injuries.
Dallen Bentley comes from a large family in Utah. A LinkedIn profile bearing his name and matching his educational background describes him as one of ten children, suggesting that he has nine siblings, although this information has not been independently confirmed in official football biographies. His parents’ names have not been reliably established in major sports publications. Bentley has also maintained privacy regarding his romantic relationships, and there are no publicly verified reports confirming that he is married or has children.
Dallen Bentley’s Wife
Lindsey Bentley (formerly Lindsey Webb) is the wife of American football player Dallen Bentley, a tight end for the Denver Broncos.
The couple met at Snow College in Utah while playing on a recreational co-ed softball team. At the time, Lindsey was a member of the Badgerettes (the school’s dance and cheer squad) and grew close to Dallen. They tied the knot in 2023, before the athlete transferred to the University of Utah and was subsequently selected in the NFL Draft.
Lindsey currently follows her husband’s professional NFL career closely; he describes her as his greatest pillar of support and his partner on this journey.
Dallen Bentley’s Children: Does He Have Kids?
There are no publicly verified reports confirming that Dallen Bentley has children.
The Denver Broncos player has not publicly announced the birth of a son or daughter through official NFL channels or reputable sports publications.
Most available information about his personal life focuses on his upbringing in Taylorsville, his college football experiences and his journey toward the NFL.
Interestingly, a publicly indexed LinkedIn profile bearing Bentley’s name expresses an ambition to provide for a large family in the future.
However, that statement should not be interpreted as confirmation that he is already a father.
The authorship of the profile has not been independently authenticated, and there are no verified public announcements establishing that Bentley has welcomed children.
As of now, no children have been publicly confirmed for Dallen Bentley.
Dallen Bentley’s Parents: Who Are His Father and Mother?
Dallen Bentley was born and raised in Taylorsville, Utah, where he developed an interest in American football.
His parents have largely remained outside the public spotlight, and their identities have not been consistently documented in authoritative sports biographies.
However, Bentley has publicly acknowledged the importance of remaining close to his family when making major decisions about his football career.
Dallen Bentley’s Father
Dallen Bentley’s father’s name has not been reliably confirmed in major sports reporting.
Although several articles have examined Bentley’s upbringing and development as an athlete, they have generally concentrated on his football experiences rather than his father’s personal background.
The Denver Broncos’ official biography does not identify his parents, and the University of Utah’s athletics records also do not provide their names.
Consequently, information about his father’s occupation, education and possible involvement in sports remains publicly limited.
What is established is that Bentley grew up in Utah and maintained strong connections to his hometown throughout his college football career.
During an August 2024 interview with the Deseret News, Bentley explained that the opportunity to remain close to family was one of the considerations influencing his decision to join the University of Utah.
That decision allowed him to pursue major college football while remaining in the state where he had grown up.
Dallen Bentley’s Mother
Dallen Bentley’s mother’s identity has also not been independently established through official NFL or university publications.
Unlike some professional football players whose parents regularly participate in media interviews, Bentley has not widely discussed his mother’s personal or professional life.
Reliable details about her occupation, educational background and other private circumstances remain unavailable.
Nevertheless, family proximity was an important consideration when Bentley evaluated college football opportunities.
His decision to attend Utah allowed him to continue living close to his home community rather than relocating permanently to another region of the United States.
Until Bentley or a reliable publication confirms his mother’s identity, assigning a specific name would be speculative.
Dallen Bentley’s Siblings: Does He Have Brothers or Sisters?
Dallen Bentley appears to come from a family of ten children, potentially including nine siblings.
A publicly indexed LinkedIn profile bearing his name and listing the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business states that its owner is one of ten children.
The profile also lists connections to Ephraim, Utah, where Bentley attended Snow College.
These details are consistent with his educational background, but the profile’s ownership has not been independently authenticated by an official NFL or university source.
Therefore, the reported number of siblings should be treated as provisional rather than definitively verified.
Dallen Bentley’s Brothers
Public football biographies have not consistently identified the names or exact number of Dallen Bentley’s brothers.
His official University of Utah profile documents his high school, college education and football achievements without listing siblings.
The Denver Broncos’ official player biography similarly focuses on his athletic development and professional career.
Although the reported family size suggests that Bentley may have several brothers, their individual identities have not been reliably established.
It would therefore be inaccurate to assign names, ages or occupations to possible brothers without additional confirmation.
Dallen Bentley’s Sisters
Reliable public information about Dallen Bentley’s sisters is also limited.
The available major sports profiles do not provide a verified list of female siblings or establish their educational and professional backgrounds.
While the LinkedIn profile associated with Bentley suggests that he grew up in a large household, it does not publicly establish how many of the other children were boys or girls.
Consequently, the number and names of his sisters remain unconfirmed.
David Sterzer – Dallen Bentley’s Cousin
One relative whose connection to Bentley has been documented directly in sports reporting is David Sterzer, his cousin.
Sterzer played an important role in encouraging Bentley to resume football after his high school career ended because of a serious injury.
According to an October 2025 Deseret News feature, Bentley enrolled at Snow College with Sterzer after returning from a religious mission in Colorado.
At the time, Bentley was uncertain whether competitive football remained a realistic opportunity.
He had played only a handful of varsity snaps in high school before suffering a broken leg, leaving him without the recruiting attention normally received by promising college football players.
Sterzer suggested that the two should try out for Snow College’s football program.
Bentley agreed, and they joined the team as walk-on players.
The decision became a turning point in his life.
Despite initially lacking major college football experience, Bentley impressed Snow College’s coaches and eventually earned an athletic scholarship.
His progress created opportunities to transfer to a Division I football program and ultimately helped him reach the NFL.
Sterzer’s encouragement remains one of the most clearly documented examples of family influence on Bentley’s football journey.
Dallen Bentley’s Family Background and Childhood in Utah
Dallen Bentley was born on December 31, 2000, in Taylorsville, Utah, a city located in Salt Lake County.
He grew up supporting the University of Utah football program and developed an ambition to compete at a higher level.
However, his pathway into competitive football was considerably more difficult than that of many future NFL players.
During his early years at Taylorsville High School, Bentley was relatively undersized and struggled to earn regular playing opportunities.
In an August 2024 interview with the Deseret News, he recalled that he had previously been small, slow and physically underdeveloped compared with many of his teammates.
As a result, he spent much of his early high school football career watching games from the sidelines.
Before his senior year, Bentley experienced a significant growth spurt and became stronger and faster.
His coaches noticed his improvement and decided to give him an opportunity during the opening game of the 2018 season.
Unfortunately, the opportunity ended almost immediately.
The Injury That Almost Ended Dallen Bentley’s Football Career
During Taylorsville’s opening game against Snow Canyon in 2018, Bentley caught a 40-yard pass.
The reception was his first catch in a high school varsity football game.
However, he suffered a serious injury on the play, breaking both his tibia and fibula.
The injury ended his senior season and effectively concluded his high school football career after approximately five varsity snaps.
Without significant playing experience or a recruiting profile, Bentley received no major college football scholarship opportunities.
At that point, he believed his competitive football career might be finished.
Rather than immediately enrolling in college football, he pursued another important personal commitment.
Dallen Bentley’s Religious Mission in Colorado
Following high school, Bentley served a religious mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Colorado.
The experience represented a significant period of his life away from organized football.
According to the Deseret News, Bentley began reconsidering his athletic future while completing the mission.
He eventually decided that he wanted to attempt another return to competitive football after coming home.
The Colorado connection later became noteworthy when the Denver Broncos selected him in the 2026 NFL Draft.
In April 2026, the Deseret News highlighted how joining Denver would bring Bentley back to the state where he had previously served his mission.
His religious experiences form part of his publicly documented background, alongside his close connection to his home state and family.
How Dallen Bentley Rebuilt His Football Career at Snow College
After returning to Utah, Bentley enrolled at Snow College in Ephraim with his cousin, David Sterzer.
The two decided to pursue opportunities within the school’s football program.
Because Bentley had played so little high school football, he initially had to prove himself as a walk-on player.
He worked closely with Snow College’s coaching staff, particularly offensive line coach Trever McFalls and wide receivers coach James Dye.
His physical development and willingness to learn helped him make considerable progress.
By the end of his first semester, he had impressed the coaching staff enough to earn a scholarship.
During the 2022 season, Bentley recorded eight receptions for 114 yards and two touchdowns.
His contributions earned second-team NJCAA All-America recognition.
Although those statistics were modest, college football coaches recognized his athletic potential.
He subsequently attracted recruiting interest from programs including Colorado, Washington, Louisville and Utah.
Bentley ultimately selected the University of Utah.
The opportunity was particularly attractive because he had grown up supporting the Utes and wanted to remain close to his family.
Dallen Bentley’s Breakthrough at the University of Utah
Bentley joined Utah’s football program in 2023, hoping to continue developing as a tight end.
However, injuries again complicated his progress.
During his first season with the Utes, a hamstring injury limited his playing opportunities.
He appeared in six games and recorded one reception for five yards.
His role expanded in 2024, when he appeared in all 12 games and made seven starts.
Nevertheless, most of his responsibilities involved blocking, and he finished the season with only two receptions for 15 yards.
His major breakthrough came in 2025.
With increased playing opportunities and a stronger connection with quarterback Devon Dampier, Bentley became one of Utah’s most productive receiving targets.
He finished the season with 48 receptions for 620 yards and six touchdowns.
His performances earned third-team All-Big 12 recognition and a place among the semifinalists for the John Mackey Award, presented to the nation’s outstanding college tight end.
He concluded his college football career with an impressive performance in Utah’s Las Vegas Bowl victory over Nebraska, recording six receptions for 106 yards and one touchdown.
Those achievements helped establish him as a legitimate NFL prospect.
Dallen Bentley’s Family and His Denver Broncos Career
The Denver Broncos selected Dallen Bentley with the 256th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft on April 25, 2026.
The selection came near the end of the draft, but it represented the fulfillment of an ambition that had once seemed impossible following his high school injury.
On May 7, 2026, Denver announced that Bentley had signed his four-year rookie contract.
The 6-foot-4 tight end joined a position group that included Evan Engram, Adam Trautman and Nate Adkins.
He also reunited with the broader Utah football community in Denver, where former Utes including Garett Bolles and Jonah Elliss had already established NFL careers.
Bentley’s development demonstrated how far he had progressed from playing only a few varsity snaps in high school to earning a professional football opportunity.
The encouragement he received from his cousin, his desire to remain connected to family and the support of coaches throughout his development were important elements of that journey.
