Vinícius Júnior is beginning to seriously evaluate his future at Real Madrid, as negotiations over a contract renewal remain stalled. Despite receiving record-breaking offers from Saudi Arabia, the Brazilian forward has reportedly decided to rule out a move to the Middle East and is instead focused on continuing his career in European football.

Real Madrid have taken a firm stance in talks, making it clear they will not make Vinícius the highest-paid player in the squad, nor align his salary with that of Kylian Mbappé. The club’s current proposal reportedly stands at around €22 million per year, a figure rejected by the player’s representatives.

Saudi Arabia No Longer an Option for Vini Jr.

According to journalist Rodra (ESPN), Vinícius has reassessed his priorities and no longer views Saudi Arabia as a viable destination, despite the possibility of becoming the highest-paid footballer in the world.

Instead, the 25-year-old winger is carefully weighing his options and is already contemplating a potential exit from Real Madrid if an agreement cannot be reached.

Only a Top European Club Would Tempt Vinícius

Should he leave the Santiago Bernabéu, Vinícius Júnior would only consider a move to another elite European club. In recent years, teams such as Manchester United, PSG, Manchester City, and Chelsea have all been linked with the Brazilian international.

The player still sees himself competing at the highest level in the Champions League and fighting for major individual and collective honors.

Difficult Season Raises Questions

Vinícius is not enjoying his best campaign in a Real Madrid shirt. On January 8, he reached a worrying milestone of 19 consecutive matches without scoring, a run that has fueled criticism from sections of the fanbase and online commentators questioning his motivation and form.

So far this season, he has made 26 appearances, scoring five goals and providing seven assists, totaling 12 goal contributions.

Real Madrid Could Consider a Sale

Vinícius Júnior’s current contract runs until June 2027, but Real Madrid are wary of allowing the situation to drift. If no renewal is agreed by the end of the current European season, Florentino Pérez is expected to place the player on the transfer market.

The club’s priority is to avoid a scenario where Vinícius could sign a pre-contract in January 2027 and leave for free, making a sale the most likely outcome if negotiations remain deadlocked.
