Tottenham have emerged as one of the clubs interested in signing Vanderson from Monaco as they prepare to reinforce their squad following an inconsistent start to the 2025/26 season. The Brazilian right-back is now firmly on Spurs’ radar, with discussions expected to intensify ahead of the January transfer window.
According to TeamTalk, intermediaries have approached several Premier League clubs regarding Vanderson’s availability, placing Tottenham among the teams monitoring a potential mid-season move. The Monaco defender is understood to be open to a switch to English football, reviving a path that nearly materialised when he left Grêmio in 2022.
At the time, Vanderson was close to joining a Premier League side, but Monaco ultimately convinced him to move to Ligue 1. Since then, the 23-year-old has established himself as a reliable performer in European football, earning regular minutes both domestically and in continental competitions.
Tottenham’s interest forms part of a broader market strategy aimed at strengthening key positions, particularly in defense. Club officials are closely evaluating Vanderson’s profile and long-term potential as they plan reinforcements for the coming transfer windows.
Monaco set asking price as Tottenham assess market
Monaco signed Vanderson for approximately €11.5 million and are now seeking to more than double their investment. The French club’s valuation is believed to be at least €23 million, reflecting the player’s development and growing reputation.
The defender remains under contract until the summer of 2028, a factor that gives Monaco leverage in negotiations. Despite this, an internal openness to a January sale has not been ruled out, especially if their financial expectations are met.
Tottenham are aware that competition from other Premier League clubs could drive up the price, but they continue to keep Vanderson high on their shortlist as they assess the market.
Premier League move could boost World Cup ambitions
Vanderson has recorded eight goals and 16 assists in 137 appearances for Monaco, underlining his attacking contribution from right-back. This season, he has already featured regularly in Ligue 1 and the Champions League, adding two assists to his tally.
Now a regular member of the Brazilian national team, Vanderson views a potential move to the Premier League as a significant step in his career. With the 2026 World Cup approaching, playing in England is seen as an attractive platform to maintain his status on the international stage.
