The Spanish Super Cup is set to make history with a record-breaking prize pool, and a potential final between Barcelona and Real Madrid is already generating huge anticipation. The tournament, once again hosted in Saudi Arabia, offers the largest financial rewards ever seen in the competition.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) will distribute a total of €23 million in prize money, equivalent to approximately R$145 million, marking a significant increase on previous editions.

Semi-Finals Begin in Jeddah

The Spanish Super Cup semi-finals kick off this Wednesday (7) in Jeddah, with Barcelona facing Athletic Bilbao in the opening match. The second semi-final will take place on Thursday (8), featuring Real Madrid against Atlético de Madrid.

The winners of each tie will advance to the grand final, scheduled for Saturday (11), where both sporting glory and major financial incentives will be at stake.

Record Prize Pool Boosts Financial Stakes

This year’s edition represents an increase of €3.35 million (around R$21.1 million) compared to the 2025 tournament, underlining the growing commercial value of the competition.

Last season, Barcelona earned approximately R$56.8 million after lifting the Spanish Super Cup trophy. Real Madrid, who finished as runners-up, received €7.15 million, equivalent to just over R$45 million.

Barcelona Dominated Last Super Cup Final

Barcelona arrive as defending champions after a dominant 5–2 victory over Real Madrid in the 2025 final, played at King Abdullah Sports City. The performance reinforced Barça’s recent strength in the competition.

In that final, Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha (twice), and Alejandro Balde scored for Barcelona, while Kylian Mbappé and Rodrygo found the net for Real Madrid.

Potential Clásico Final in Saudi Arabia

With both Barcelona and Real Madrid placed on opposite sides of the bracket, the possibility of another El Clásico final looms large — a scenario that would further boost global attention and commercial interest in the tournament.
