LONDON – Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has officially declared his desire to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium. Having successfully navigated an 11-month recovery from a career-threatening knee injury, the Brazilian forward is focused on one thing: winning trophies with the current Premier League leaders.

While his current deal runs until June 2027, Jesus revealed in a recent interview with ESPN that while official talks haven’t commenced, his heart remains firmly in North London.

Commitment to the Gunners

“My desire is to stay at Arsenal. Obviously, I want to extend my contract,” Jesus stated. “I came here with a purpose. My focus is on staying healthy and winning trophies because that is what this club deserves.”

The No. 9 acknowledged that footballing realities can change quickly, but reaffirmed that his primary goal is to remain a key part of Mikel Arteta’s project for the foreseeable future, dismissing any immediate rumors of a return to Palmeiras.

During his long absence, Arsenal bolstered their attack with the high-profile signing of Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP. Despite the Swede’s slow start to life in England, Jesus was quick to defend his teammate.

“He is an elite striker,” Jesus said of Gyökeres. “I am sure he will find a way to score goals for us every minute. He is a striker who can strike at any moment.”

The Brazilian also welcomed back Kai Havertz from his own injury struggles, emphasizing that healthy competition is vital for a club of Arsenal’s stature. “At a club as big as Arsenal, there’s no guarantee of a place for anyone. We are all here to help the team win games,” he concluded.
