Arsenal have secured the future of Bukayo Saka, reaching a full agreement to extend the star winger’s contract until 2031. The deal includes a significant salary increase and has been internally described as the club’s “signing of the season”, according to TeamTalk.
The renewal represents a major step in Arsenal’s long-term project and reinforces the club’s ambition to end a Premier League title drought that has lasted more than two decades.
Arsenal Prioritize Retaining Key Players
Since Andrea Berta took over as sporting director, Arsenal have intensified efforts to protect their core squad. The club has already secured contract extensions for key figures such as William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Ethan Nwaneri, underlining a clear strategy of continuity and squad stability.
Within that plan, Bukayo Saka’s renewal was treated as an absolute priority by the board.
Saka Seen as Cornerstone of Arteta’s Project
Considered the team’s main talisman, Saka is viewed as essential to the continuity of Mikel Arteta’s work. Arsenal believe keeping the England international is crucial to maintaining competitiveness both domestically and in European competitions.
After months of negotiations, an agreement was finally reached, as confirmed by David Ornstein of The Athletic.
“Bukayo Saka has renewed his contract with Arsenal for another five years, with improved terms,” Ornstein reported.
New Deal Makes Saka Arsenal’s Highest-Paid Player
Under the new agreement, the 24-year-old is now tied to Arsenal until the summer of 2031. Prior to the renewal, Saka earned around £195,000 per week, but his salary will now rise to approximately £300,000 per week, making him the highest-paid player in the current squad.
The extension is seen internally as a major boost and a statement of intent, signaling Arsenal’s determination to build a title-winning team around their homegrown star.
