Saudi Arabia maintains interest in Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes ahead of January transfer window

Bruno Fernandes, the Portuguese midfielder for Manchester United, remains a target for the Saudi Pro League, which could resume its pursuit of him in the upcoming January transfer window.
Saudi Arabia Eyes Bruno Fernandes
The Saudi Pro League previously expressed interest in signing Fernandes last summer, offering him a chance to become one of the highest-paid players in world football. According to TBR Football, the league has not given up and is expected to make another push for the 31-year-old midfielder during the winter transfer period.
“Fernandes’ situation is far from resolved, and come New Year’s, he’ll be a player to watch when it comes to the Pro League,” commented journalist Graeme Bailey.
Despite the external interest, Fernandes appears focused on performing well for Manchester United under Ruben Amorim and for the Portugal national team, as he eyes the 2026 World Cup.
Manchester United Aims to Retain Bruno
Manchester United is determined to keep Fernandes, whose contract runs until June 2027. The board continues to work on ensuring the midfielder remains a key part of the squad, despite the lucrative proposals from Saudi Arabia.
Bruno Fernandes’ Recent Performance
Last season, Fernandes played 57 matches, starting 55, scored 19 goals (0.33 goals per game), and provided 18 assists, logging 4,933 minutes across five competitions. This season, he has appeared in four matches, scoring one goal.
