PSG loses Dembélé and Doué for Champions League and French Championship matches

Paris Saint-Germain have been dealt a huge setback as Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué suffered injuries on international duty with France, ruling them out of key Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League fixtures.
Double injury during France’s World Cup qualifier
The duo picked up injuries during France’s 2-0 win over Ukraine in the opening round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. According to Le Parisien, Désiré Doué will be sidelined for three to four weeks, while RMC Sport reports that Dembélé could face up to eight weeks out, with a potential return only in November.
This spells major trouble for Luis Enrique, who loses two attacking options just as PSG’s schedule intensifies.
Which matches will they miss?
Using September 6 as the reference point, Doué is set to miss six matches, including the high-profile Champions League clash against Barcelona on October 1 at the Parc des Princes.
Dembélé’s absence is even more alarming: the winger could miss 11 games, including four Champions League fixtures against Atalanta, Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen, and Bayern Munich.
PSG’s upcoming fixtures without Dembélé and Doué

- 27/09: Auxerre – Ligue 1

PSG facing pressure in Europe and domestically
The absence of Dembélé, one of PSG’s top candidates for the Ballon d’Or, could heavily impact the team’s attacking balance. Meanwhile, Doué’s injury deprives Luis Enrique of a versatile young talent at a time when squad depth is crucial.
With Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Bayer Leverkusen all in PSG’s Champions League group, the French giants risk losing ground without two key players.
