Isak and Wirtz lead the most expensive transfers of the 2025/26 summer transfer window

The 2025/26 European summer transfer window has closed, and once again the Premier League dominated the market. Liverpool led the way with blockbuster deals for Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, while other giants like Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and PSG also made big-money moves.

Premier League Leads Spending

No league invested more than the Premier League. Liverpool alone spent €364 million on three major signings: Isak (€144m), Wirtz (€125m), and Ekitike (€95m).

Newcastle also made headlines by paying €85m to Stuttgart for striker Woltemade, who arrives as Isak’s replacement.

Arsenal, meanwhile, reinforced their midfield with Zubimendi (€70m), while Manchester United completed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo (€75m) from Brentford.

Real Madrid and PSG Reinforce Defenses

Unlike English clubs, Real Madrid focused on defensive signings, bringing in Dean Huijsen (€62.5m), Álvaro Carreras (€50m), and free agent Trent Alexander-Arnold, who left Liverpool.

Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning Champions League winners, also strengthened their back line. They secured Illya Zabarnyi (€63m) and signed goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier (€40m) to replace Donnarumma, who joined Manchester City.

Bayern Munich Also Active

In Germany, Bayern Munich added attacking depth by signing Colombian winger Luis Díaz for €70m from Liverpool.
