Barcelona prepares €80 million offer for Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni

Barcelona are preparing a massive €80 million offer to sign Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan, according to reports from Fichajes.net. The Italian defender has emerged as the club’s top defensive target as president Joan Laporta looks to strengthen the squad for coach Hansi Flick.

Deal Planned for January Window

Due to the club’s ongoing financial limitations, Barcelona are not expected to formalize the offer this summer. Instead, the Catalan giants plan to advance negotiations in January, when they will have more room to operate under LaLiga’s financial fair play rules.

The move comes after Iñigo Martínez’s departure to Al-Nassr, which has left Flick short of options at the back. The German coach has made it clear he wants a high-level left-footed center-back to partner with rising star Pau Cubarsí.

Other Names on the Radar: Murillo in Contention

While Bastoni remains the dream signing, Barcelona are also monitoring other defenders. Among them is Murillo, the Brazilian center-back who left Corinthians for Nottingham Forest and impressed in the Premier League last season.

Murillo’s numbers reportedly surpass Ronald Araújo’s early-season performances, which has increased the pressure on the Uruguayan, who has struggled to convince Flick in recent matches.

Why Bastoni Fits Barcelona’s Needs

Currently, Cubarsí is the only natural left-footed center-back in the squad. Flick and his staff believe adding another defender with the same profile would be vital to balance the backline and allow Cubarsí to maximize his distribution skills.

Both Bastoni and Murillo are seen as players capable of meeting this demand, but the Italian international—already considered one of the world’s best defenders—remains the number one priority for the Blaugrana board.
