Barcelona is close to renewing the contract of young star Landry Farré, a rising talent from La Masia

Barcelona is advancing in the renewal of Landry Farré, an 18-year-old prospect regarded as one of the brightest talents in the club’s youth academy.
Landry Farré Close to Signing New Contract
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona and Farré have reached an agreement for a professional contract that will keep the versatile defender at the club until 2028. Currently on a one-year training contract, Farré is set to officially transition to the first-team setup once the new deal is signed.
Versatile Talent Impresses Hansi Flick
Farré, originally a right-back, can also operate as a midfielder or left winger, a versatility that caught the attention of Hansi Flick, who included him in preseason training with the first team. Although he did not travel with the squad for the Asian tour, his inclusion in training sessions highlights the coaching staff’s confidence in his potential.
Early Career and Achievements
The young defender made 21 appearances for Barça Atlètic in Spain’s Primera RFEF last season and also featured in the Juvenil A team, helping the squad win the UEFA Youth League. Farré has already been called up to Spain’s youth national teams, showcasing his growing reputation on the international stage.
He also trained under former Barcelona full-back Juliano Belletti and participated in the Intercontinental Cup, where Barcelona narrowly lost to Flamengo on penalties at the Maracanã Stadium.
Market Value and Injury Update
Transfermarkt currently values the ambidextrous defender at €300,000 (≈ R$1.9 million), but this figure is expected to rise sharply once his new contract is finalized.
Farré suffered a right ankle sprain in his last match against Flamengo, with an estimated recovery time of up to eight weeks. Barcelona’s U-19 team kicks off its season on September 18, debuting in the Youth Champions League against Newcastle, where Farré is expected to play a key role once fit.
