Real Madrid rejects €25 million offer from Saudi Arabia for Éder Militão

Club maintains full confidence in Brazilian defender’s return after injury
Real Madrid has turned down a €25 million offer from a Saudi Arabian club for Brazilian defender Éder Militão, according to a report from Defensa Central. The name of the club was not disclosed, but the approach underscores the growing interest from the Saudi Pro League in top-tier European talent.
Militão Remains Key in Madrid’s Defensive Plans
Despite the offer, Real Madrid remains firm in its belief that Militão, 26, will return to his best form following the serious knee injury he suffered early last season. The Spanish giants see him as a long-term pillar in defense, partnering with Antonio Rüdiger when both are fit.
Militão, who arrived from FC Porto in 2019, is under contract at the Bernabéu until 2028. Known for his pace, aerial dominance, and versatility often filling in at right-back—the Brazilian continues to be a favorite of manager Xabi Alonso, who rates him as an undisputed starter when available.
Rüdiger’s Future in Doubt as Saudis Circle
While Militão appears to be staying, his center-back partner Antonio Rüdiger could be on the way out. The German defender is approaching the final stretch of his contract and is said to be on the radar of Saudi clubs, who are preparing a lucrative offer to lure him away from the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid, already planning for a potential defensive reshuffle, has identified Ibrahima Konaté of Liverpool as a top target. The French defender’s contract situation at Anfield could open the door for negotiations.
Another name linked is William Saliba from Arsenal, though his valuation—reportedly over €83 million (converted from R$500 million) and pending contract renewal make him a less likely option for Madrid at this stage.
Rodrygo Could Also Be On the Move
Beyond the defense, Rodrygo is another player who could leave this summer. The Brazilian winger is reportedly open to a move to Liverpool, although no formal offer has been submitted yet.
Rodrygo is valued at over €100 million (around R$642 million), and Xabi Alonso is reportedly open to his departure if the right proposal arrives. The rise of Arda Güler within the squad has also contributed to Rodrygo’s reduced prominence in the current lineup.
