Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes weighs Al-Ittihad move but MLS also on the table

Bruno Fernandes could leave Manchester United at the end of the 2025/26 season, with the Portuguese star attracting interest not only from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad but also from Major League Soccer (MLS).
The Red Devils’ captain, now 30, has become one of the hottest names in the transfer market. Al-Ittihad is reportedly ready to put more than R$700 million (€110m) on the table to secure him, with the midfielder already open to hearing proposals. Still, he has made it clear that no decision will be taken before the end of this European season.
Al-Ittihad leading the race — but not alone
According to reports, the Saudi side has received positive signals from Fernandes’ camp, though his demands for a substantial salary package could complicate negotiations. Al-Ittihad, keen to rebuild their squad and fight for titles again, sees the United playmaker as a marquee signing.
However, MLS clubs are also in the running. As reported by GOAL, Bruno Fernandes is considering finishing his career in the United States after the 2026 World Cup, viewing the American league as an attractive project for his final playing years.
Other options still possible
The midfielder isn’t closing doors on other opportunities either. Depending on the project presented, Fernandes could even remain in Europe with another club. His decision will depend heavily on offers expected to arrive in mid-2026, when his future will likely be defined.
Current situation at Manchester United
Under new manager Ruben Amorim, Bruno Fernandes remains a guaranteed starter this season. He has already featured in three matches but is yet to register a goal or assist.
Fernandes is contracted with Manchester United until June 2027 and is currently valued at €50 million (R$316.2 million), according to Transfermarkt.
