Manchester United values Andrey Santos and asks for him in exchange for Garnacho; Chelsea refuses
Manchester United attempted to include Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos in negotiations for Alejandro Garnacho, but Chelsea immediately rejected the proposal, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Chelsea Stand Firm on Andrey Santos
The Blues reportedly have no intention of selling the 20-year-old midfielder, who is currently impressing on loan in France. Chelsea’s plan is to reintegrate him into Enzo Maresca’s squad later this year, unless his performances drop, in which case another loan move could be considered for January 2026.
Garnacho Closer to Stamford Bridge
While Chelsea refused to part with Andrey Santos, talks for Garnacho remain very much alive. The Argentine winger has already agreed personal terms with the London club and turned down a late approach from Bayern Munich. According to reports, Chelsea are preparing a package worth over €40 million (R$255 million), with hopes of sealing the deal before the end of August.
A Challenge for Estêvão?
Should Garnacho arrive, Enzo Maresca may face a selection dilemma. Both Garnacho and Brazilian wonderkid Estêvão are natural competitors for the same attacking role, potentially sparking internal competition within Chelsea’s squad.
United’s Wider Transfer Puzzle
Meanwhile, Manchester United continue to reshape their squad. Beyond Garnacho, Brazilian winger Antony is also pushing for a move, with Real Betis leading the race. However, the Spanish club faces difficulties meeting United’s £30 million (R$220 million) valuation.
