Manchester United gives Kobbie Mainoo an ultimatum and again refuses his transfer

Red Devils reject loan or sale despite player’s push to leave this summer

United shut door on Mainoo transfer

Manchester United has made its stance clear: Kobbie Mainoo will not leave the club in this transfer window. Despite the midfielder’s strong desire to secure a move either permanent or on loan the board has issued an ultimatum, insisting he remains part of the squad for the season.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, United’s hierarchy sees Mainoo as a key figure in Ruben Amorim’s plans, making any negotiation “non-negotiable.”

Player requested a loan

Mainoo had recently pressed for a loan move to gain more playing time and experience outside Old Trafford. However, club directors quickly rejected the idea, reaffirming their confidence in his development within the current squad.

Amorim counting on the youngster

Manager Ruben Amorim has backed the board’s decision, highlighting Mainoo’s importance in his tactical setup. He expects the 19-year-old to play a central role in midfield and has urged management to shield him from growing interest across Europe.

Who could leave instead?

While Mainoo stays, United is preparing to move on from other names. Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Garnacho are among the forwards expected to be negotiated before the window closes. Garnacho, in particular, already has a deal lined up with his new club.
