Ferran Torres rejects lucrative Saudi Arabian offer to stay at Barcelona under Hansi Flick

Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has rejected a multi-million euro offer from a Saudi Arabian club, choosing to remain at Camp Nou under new manager Hansi Flick. According to journalist Santi Ovalle, the 25-year-old’s decision comes despite limited minutes in recent seasons and growing interest from the Middle East.
Flick’s Confidence Key to Decision
While the identity of the Saudi club has not been disclosed, recent reports have linked Al-Nassr to the Spanish international. Torres, however, opted to stay after receiving assurances from Flick about his role this season. His ability to play both centrally and on the wings has made him a valuable squad option.
Torres joined Barcelona from Manchester City in January 2022 and has enjoyed an upturn in form since Flick’s arrival. He is expected to compete primarily with Robert Lewandowski for the central striker position, though the Polish star remains the first-choice No. 9.
Rashford’s Arrival Could Shift Dynamics
Barcelona’s signing of Marcus Rashford, who can operate both on the wing and as a center forward, could threaten Torres’s playing time. The Englishman featured as the starting striker in the Joan Gamper Trophy against Como, showing he could also step in for Lewandowski if needed.
Saudi Clubs Already Making Inroads at Barcelona
The Catalan side recently lost defender Íñigo Martínez to Al-Nassr, a move that has increased pressure on the club to keep the remainder of its core squad intact. With a busy fixture list across La Liga and the Champions League, Flick and the board view Torres as an important piece in maintaining depth and quality.
