Barcelona coach Pere Romeu confident despite lack of signings: “We have a very competitive team”

Barcelona manager Pere Romeu insists his squad is ready to fight for all titles this season, even after the club made just two signings and lost more than 10 players over the summer.

Romeu: “I Believe in This Team”

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, the coach addressed concerns over Barça’s quiet transfer window, stressing confidence in the squad built last year.

“We’re aware of the situation within the club, and I’m 100% convinced we have a very competitive team. I continue to believe in these players and this group. Day after day, we will keep improving and becoming stronger,” Romeu said.

Despite rivals reinforcing heavily, Romeu highlighted the positive preseason tour in Mexico, where the team impressed in two friendlies.

“I’m convinced we’ll fight for everything this season. They’re in better shape every year, and I was very pleasantly surprised by our preseason,” he added.

Barcelona’s Squad Stability

While no major reinforcements arrived, Barça retained most of its core stars, relying on continuity and chemistry instead of new transfers. The strategy contrasts with La Liga and European rivals, who invested significantly in the summer market.

Liga F Season Debut

The Catalan giants begin their Liga F title defense at home against Alhama CF in the first round. As reigning champions, Barcelona will look to start strong and send an early message that they remain favorites despite their low-profile transfer window.
