Ballon d’Or: Alisson nominated for world’s best goalkeeper award with Liverpool exit imminent

Liverpool star Alisson Becker has been nominated for the Yashin Trophy, awarded by France Football to the world’s best goalkeeper, amid growing speculation over a potential move away from Anfield.
The 32-year-old is the only Brazilian among the 10 finalists for the prestigious prize, which will be presented during the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony scheduled for September 22 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
Alisson, who joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2018, could be approaching the end of his time with the Premier League club as Saudi Arabian sides including Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad prepare to make lucrative offers for the veteran keeper for the 2026/2027 season.

Mamardashvili Signing Fuels Exit Rumors
Liverpool’s recent acquisition of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia widely regarded as one of La Liga’s standout goalkeepers has intensified speculation over Alisson’s future. The Georgian’s arrival suggests that the Reds are planning for a potential transition between the posts.
Should Alisson accept an offer from Saudi Arabia, the move could mark the last major contract of his career. Despite that, the former Internacional keeper has also expressed long-term plans to return to Internacional in Brazil, aiming to finish his career as one of the top goalkeepers in South America.
A Liverpool Legend Nearing His Final Chapter
Having made over 250 appearances for Liverpool, Alisson is regarded as one of the club’s greatest goalkeepers. His consistent performances have been crucial in the team’s success under Jürgen Klopp, including winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and more.
As the Ballon d’Or ceremony nears, all eyes will be on whether Alisson can claim the Yashin Trophy for the second time and whether this marks his farewell season at Anfield.
