Rodrygo Will Not Join Barcelona, But Real Madrid Exit Still Possible, Says Romano

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes will not be making a shock move to rivals FC Barcelona, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Despite rumors circulating in recent weeks, Romano confirmed that a direct transfer between the two La Liga giants is “impossible.”

Madrid Open to Selling Rodrygo—For the Right Price

Although Barcelona is off the table, Rodrygo could still leave Real Madrid this summer. Sources close to the club suggest that the Brazilian international is no longer a guaranteed starter under Xabi Alonso, with young Turkish midfielder Arda Güler increasingly favored by the new coach.

Rodrygo’s current valuation is set at €100 million roughly R$651 million a figure that Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City are reportedly monitoring. Liverpool’s interest, however, depends on the potential sale of Luis Díaz, who remains a transfer target for Bayern Munich.

Potential Reinvestment in Rodri or Another Top Signing

Should Rodrygo be sold, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is expected to reinvest the funds in a top-level player not necessarily in the same position. Manchester City’s Rodri has emerged as a potential target to strengthen the squad’s midfield depth.

Xabi Alonso Gives Green Light, Player Still Undecided

Behind the scenes, Xabi Alonso is said to support a departure if it benefits both parties. Rodrygo has reportedly grown frustrated over his decreasing role, particularly after being asked to shift from his preferred left-wing position. Despite this, the 23-year-old still favors staying in the Spanish capital if possible.

Florentino Pérez is keen to resolve Rodrygo’s future before the La Liga season kicks off next month.
