Real Madrid’s Rodrygo is in talks with Tottenham, says journalist

Spurs enter the race for Brazilian forward as questions mount over his future at the Bernabéu
Tottenham Hotspur have entered negotiations with Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, according to Spanish journalist Ramón Álvarez of Radio Marca. The 24-year-old Brazilian has been linked with several clubs this summer, though his contract with the Spanish giants runs until June 2028.
Uncertain Future in Madrid
While Rodrygo remains officially tied to Real Madrid for three more seasons, growing speculation suggests the player may be open to a move particularly in light of the fierce competition for starting roles under new manager Xabi Alonso.
Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been linked with the forward, though only Tottenham are reported to have opened formal discussions. Spurs are said to be monitoring the situation closely, with Liverpool expected to decide soon whether to make an approach of their own.
Contract and Market Valuation
Rodrygo is currently valued at €90 million, according to Transfermarkt. While Real Madrid have not officially listed him for sale, his future could hinge on whether the club feels he fits into the long-term tactical project under Alonso.
Performance in 2024/25 Season
The Brazilian featured heavily last season, making 54 appearances and starting 40 of those. He scored 14 goals and contributed 10 assists across all competitions. However, fan criticism increased, particularly during the Club World Cup, where he failed to impress and played just 93 minutes over three matches, recording a single assist.
