Ethan Nwaneri Signs Four-Year Contract Extension with Arsenal

Arsenal have reached an agreement with rising star Ethan Nwaneri on a four-year contract extension, reinforcing the club’s long-term commitment to one of its most promising young talents.

The deal, which is expected to be formally signed and announced in the coming weeks, will keep the 18-year-old forward at Emirates Stadium through 2029. The final paperwork is still pending, but both parties have reportedly expressed a strong desire to continue working together.

Nwaneri, who became Arsenal’s youngest-ever Premier League debutant at just 15, cemented his place in Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad during the 2024/25 season. Wearing the No. 22 shirt, the versatile attacker made 37 appearances across all competitions, contributing nine goals and showcasing his ability to adapt across multiple positions in the final third.

Primarily deployed as a right winger, the left-footed Nwaneri has also featured as an attacking midfielder and centre forward often stepping in for key figures such as Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard. His performances have impressed Arsenal’s technical staff, and his development is seen as a key component of the club’s future project.

The potential departure of Leandro Trossard during the summer transfer window is expected to further open opportunities for Nwaneri on the flanks. Arteta is also believed to be considering trialling the youngster on the left wing during pre-season, a position he has yet to occupy in professional football.

Nwaneri made his senior debut during the 2022/23 campaign, but his evolution last season has marked him as one of English football’s most exciting prospects. Arsenal’s confidence in the Hale End graduate reflects their broader strategy of promoting youth within a competitive Premier League framework.

Further details on the official signing and presentation are expected soon.
