Chelsea prepares proposal to convince Real Madrid to negotiate for striker Gonzalo García

Blues prepare blockbuster bid for Club World Cup breakout star as Real Madrid races to secure a new deal

Chelsea are gearing up to test Real Madrid’s resolve with a bold €40 million offer for rising star Gonzalo García, the 21-year-old striker making waves at the Club World Cup.

After dazzling performances in the tournament including three goals and one assist in just four matches García has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs. But it’s Chelsea who are reportedly leading the race, planning to move fast in the 2025 summer transfer window to secure his signature.

According to reports from Fichajes and TEAMtalk, the Blues see García as a long-term solution to replace Nicolas Jackson, and are prepared to table a big-money bid to tempt Madrid into negotiations.

Real Madrid Has Other Plans

Despite the interest, Real Madrid have no intention of selling. Sources from Spanish outlet AS reveal that the club is already in talks with García’s representatives for a contract renewal following his Club World Cup form.

The striker is currently tied to Los Blancos until June 2027, but his €50 million release clause is seen as a bargain by English clubs adding urgency to Madrid’s desire to lock him down with improved terms.

Filling Mbappé’s Shoes?

Madrid’s decision to not pursue another center forward this January speaks volumes about their confidence in García. He’s already impressed by stepping into a role many assumed was reserved for Kylian Mbappé, performing with maturity beyond his years.

Xabi Alonso, who has played a role in the player’s development, reportedly believes García could be the ideal solution to lead the line but acknowledges that he’ll need to prove himself consistently to challenge for a starting spot in a squad featuring Mbappé.
