Arsenal plans big financial move for Rodrygo – Brazilian could become one of the club’s highest paid

Arsenal are preparing an ambitious move to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid, with plans to make the Brazilian forward one of the highest-paid players at the club, according to journalist Lucas Arnold (TBR Football). The Gunners are ready to go all-in to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season.

Arsenal Make Rodrygo a Priority

Rodrygo’s future at Real Madrid remains uncertain. With increased competition in the squad and fewer starting opportunities last season, the 23-year-old winger is reportedly open to a new challenge and Arsenal are ready to offer him both a central role and a massive salary upgrade.

Behind the scenes, Arsenal director Andrea Berta is working on the deal, viewing Rodrygo as a player who can elevate the team’s frontline and bring Champions League-winning experience to North London.

Arsenal Ready to Break Wage Structure

Rodrygo’s arrival would shake up Arsenal’s current wage hierarchy:

  • Kai Havertz is currently the top earner at Arsenal with £280,000/week.
  • Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, both on £190k–£195k/week, are expected to get raises in upcoming renewals.
  • Rodrygo, meanwhile, earns €240,000/week at Madrid (approx. £205,000/week), according to Capology.

If the Gunners land the Brazilian star, he would likely command a salary exceeding £300,000/week, putting him at the top of Arsenal’s payroll.

Real Madrid’s Stance: €90M Price Tag

According to Cadena SER, Real Madrid are willing to sell Rodrygo but only for the right price. The club reportedly values him at €90 million, and any funds from his sale could be reinvested into a replacement, depending on how new coach Xabi Alonso plans to reshape the squad.

While no official bids have been submitted yet, Arsenal are expected to act after the Club World Cup, where Rodrygo remains focused on helping Madrid compete for the title.

Rodrygo’s 2024/25 Season at a Glance

Rodrygo struggled to consistently hold a starting role last season, especially following the arrival of Kylian Mbappé and the emergence of Jude Bellingham as a central figure. Though still a fan favorite, the winger started fewer matches than expected a key reason why a move now feels timely.
