In a great game, Barcelona beats Real Madrid and becomes closer to the title
Mbappé scores hat-trick but Yamal and Raphinha lead Barça to victory as Hansi Flick’s side open up a seven-point lead at the top of LaLiga

OVERWHELMING REACTION
Just like in the previous three games, Barcelona and Real Madrid played another sensational El Clasico in the 2024/25 season. In a decisive match in LaLiga, in the 35th round, Barça beat their biggest rivals 5-3, coming from behind to secure the Spanish title. Mbappé scored all three goals for Real, while Raphinha (2), Yamal, Eric García and Fermín López scored for Barcelona.
THE GAME
At the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, the visiting team opened the scoring after just five minutes, with Mbappé converting a penalty he had won. Nine minutes later, he doubled the lead after a good pass from Vini.
But then came Barça’s reaction. Eric García headed in to reduce the deficit in the 19th minute, and Yamal equalised in the 32nd minute with a beautiful shot. Raphinha turned the game around in the following minute, after a bad mistake by Mbappé and Ceballos. In the 44th minute, the Brazilian took advantage of another defensive error, this time by Lucas Vázquez, to increase Barça’s lead.
BARÇA PUTS A HAND ON THE CUP
With the victory, Barcelona now has 82 points at the top of the Spanish league. Real Madrid is second with 75 points. There are still three rounds left, meaning nine points are up for grabs. If they beat Espanyol in the next round, Barça will secure the 2024/25 LaLiga trophy.
