Brighton’s win leaves the club in 8th place, outside the Conference League

Brighton ended the Premier League campaign with a 4-1 win over Tottenham and finished in 8th place. Hinshelwood, O’Riley and Diego Gomez scored for the winning team, with Solanke scoring for Tottenham.

Riding high on the back of their Europa League title, Tottenham were the better side in the first half, despite not being in contention for anything in the Premier League. In the 15th minute, Tel was brought down in the box, and Solanke scored from the penalty spot. The home side were 1-0 up at half-time.

The scenario was completely different in the second half. Hinshelwood led Brighton’s comeback with two goals from the rebound from a corner, the second with a backheel. Then, O’Riley extended the lead from the penalty spot, and Diego Gómez sealed the 4-1 lead with a stunning goal.
THE VACANCIES
Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham will be in the Champions League. Aston Villa and Crystal Palace will play in the Europa League, and Nottingham Forest will be in the Conference League. Brighton, in 8th, are the first away team.
