Lyon fans protest against Textor: “Who’s the idiot?”

A group of Lyon fans have protested against John Textor’s management and left banners on the door of the club’s shop.
“Who will be the sucker?”, one of the messages reads, referring to which club will face the lack of money at the end of the season, referring to two other Eagle Football clubs: Botafogo and Molenbeek.
«From pride to shame, four fights for the podium. Without money at the end of the season, Molenbeek, Botafogo, Lyon ? Who will be the sucker», it reads.
Eagle Football Group released its results for the first half of 2024/2025 in March, with a net loss of 117 million euros.
Lyon are in a difficult financial situation and have failed to meet their target for player sales. Qualifying Paulo Fonseca’s side for the UEFA Champions League has become essential to save Lyon. The French club are sixth in Ligue 1 with 51 points, the same as Nice (fifth).
