Marco Silva in pole position to replace Postecoglou at Tottenham
Portuguese coach is one of the favorites to replace the Australian as Spurs coach

In 14th place in the Premier League and out of both Cups, Tottenham ‘s season has been quite negative, and the only thing that can save it is winning the UEFA Europa League . Not only for the trophy, which would be the first in 17 years, but also for qualification for European competitions, more specifically the return to the UEFA Champions League in 2025/26.
However, if that doesn’t happen, Spurs ‘ management may consider changing coach, according to the Telegraph, sacking Ange Postecoglou, who is in his second season in England, this one much more affected by injuries.
There are two names considered favourites to succeed the Australian and one of them is Portuguese: Marco Silva, who is doing an excellent job at Fulham , currently eighth in the English league and just four points behind fourth place.
According to the same source, it is quite likely that the former Sporting player will say goodbye to Craven Cottage at the end of the season and try to reach higher levels, after four seasons in London. Last weekend, Fulham and Tottenham faced each other, and Marco Silva was the winner (2-0).
His main competitor is Andoni Iraola. The Basque has been Bournemouth ‘s coach since the summer of 2023 and has also put his team in the running for access to next season’s European competitions. The Cherries are in 10th place, but just one point behind Fulham and five behind Chelsea , who are in fourth place, with 9 games left in the league. This final stretch of the season could be decisive in seeing who gets the job.
