Fofana targeted with racist insults after Arsenal-Chelsea: “In 2025…”
The Frenchman lamented the situation, as did his club, both on social media, and hopes that measures will be taken, revealing some of the messages he received

Wesley Fofana recently returned from injury and made his second appearance for Chelsea since December 1 on Sunday, but it ended in a 1-0 defeat at Arsenal ‘s Emirates home ground.
At the end of the meeting, the Frenchman revealed that he had received several messages with racist insults on social media, showing them in his stories and also leaving one appealing for this situation not to happen again.
«In 2025, stupidity and evil will no longer hide… It’s not just football, it’s not just a ‘game’ when some people think the color of their skin makes them superior to others. It’s time for things to change, for platforms to act and for everyone to take responsibility,” he wrote.
Earlier, the London club also released a statement regretting the incident: « Chelsea is shocked and outraged by the recent increase in racial abuse online towards our players. The abuse directed at Wes Fofana after yesterday’s game is abhorrent and will not be tolerated. Wes and all our players have our full support. We will work with the relevant authorities to identify the perpetrators and take the strongest possible action.»
