Conceição admits: “I have never experienced anything like this in my career”

Milan ‘s ordeal seems to have no end. Against Lazio , the Rossoneri lost for the third time in a row (1-2) and dropped to ninth place in Serie A. After
the match, Milan coach Sergio Conceição spoke to DAZN and commented on the team’s current situation: «It’s not an easy time at all, the players feel what’s going on around the club, but there’s only one way to solve this: work hard and be as proud as possible of the colours we defend and give our best.»
“It’s the first time something like this has happened to me in my career. For the players, the boots are hot and it’s not easy: you can’t dribble and the opponent scores and you’re left behind. But the team showed character, we managed to draw with 10 men, but we could also have won if it hadn’t been for that penalty. The boys give me positive feedback among themselves and in training, they believe, but then we get into a difficult situation,” he said.
“I don’t feel well at all”
At a press conference, the coach dismissed the idea of resigning and defended the players: “What moves me the most are the players, seeing their faces, the disappointment, the frustration. I am with them. I am here to defend my players and my dressing room. If I have to work two or three more hours, I will do so. We are in a negative phase in terms of results and episodes. We will continue working.”
“Losing like this is not easy. We have to give our best, work hard in every aspect. We have to find a balance so that, in moments like this, we don’t concede goals and score them. We could have made it 2-1 before the penalty if we had been more calm. The attitude and the desire to win were there and that makes me happy,” he added.
Finally, he admitted his disappointment with Milan ‘s most recent results and promised to work hard: «I feel sorry for the fans, because I’m used to winning. I’m hurt by this. I’m very hurt by these results. Right now, I don’t feel good at all. And what I do in these moments is work, even harder.»
