Newcastle beats Arsenal again and goes to the English League Cup final
With goals from Murphy and Gordon, one in each half, the team from the North of England repeats the 2-0 score from the first leg at St. James’s Park

Newcastle will play in the 2024/25 English League Cup final . They qualified for the tournament final on Wednesday with a 2-0 victory over Arsenal at St. James’s Park. The score was the same as the first leg in London . Strikers Murphy and Gordon scored Newcastle’s goals in the 18th minute of the first half and early in the second half, respectively.
Will the fast of relevant titles end?
Newcastle have never won the English League Cup trophy. And the most important title they have won was 70 years ago: the 1954/1955 FA Cup. The fans’ expectations are huge at this moment.
And the final?
The other finalist in this season’s English League Cup will come from the clash between Liverpool and Tottenham. The London team won the first leg of the semi-final 1-0 and, therefore, plays this Thursday with the advantage of a draw.
