Milan draws with Feyenoord and is eliminated from the Champions League
Theo Hernández’s expulsion compromises Milan’s team, which is tied and is eliminated from the competition

FEYENOORD ELIMINATES MILAN
Feyenoord have advanced to the round of 16 of the Champions League. Carranza scored the equalizer against Milan on Tuesday and was the hero of the Dutch team’s qualification. Milan took the lead through Santi Giménez, but Theo Hernández’s sending off compromised the Italian team, who conceded the equalizer shortly after.
EXPULSION CHANGES THE GAME
Milan’s first half was overwhelming. The home team ended Feyenoord’s lead in the first minute. Santi Giménez made the most of the former’s rule by scoring a header early in the game. The Italian team continued to press, Milan attacked and shot, but the second goal was not scored.
Better in the second half, Milan saw everything go wrong in the last 45 minutes. Without scoring, the team was clearly the better team on the pitch until the fifth minute, when Theo Hernández simulated a penalty and received his second yellow card. The first had come in the first half, when he pulled the shirt of a Feyenoord player when the game was stopped. With one less player, Milan conceded the equalizer in the 27th minute, when Carranza headed in to put the Dutch team through.
NEXT PHASE
Having qualified, Feyenoord awaits the draw to find out their opponent in the round of 16. The team could face Arsenal or Inter Milan in the next phase of the Champions League.
