Good news for Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool
Injury not as serious as feared. Full-back expected to return for Everton derby

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has narrowly escaped serious injury. The England international, who is being targeted by Real Madrid, was forced to pull out of the match against Bournemouth with an injury. He underwent an MRI scan yesterday which revealed that the thigh injury will only keep him out for a few days, rather than the weeks initially feared.
However, Liverpool’s coaching staff are not taking any risks, meaning Alexander-Arnold is likely to miss Thursday’s League Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham and be given a rest period for the FA Cup tie against Plymouth .
The full-back is expected to be available for the derby against Everton at Goodison Park, scheduled for February 12.
