Lazio coach reassures fans over Nuno Tavares injury
Marco Baroni explained that the Portuguese left at the right time and that it does not seem to be too worrying
Lazio defeated Real Sociedad 3-1 to virtually secure top spot in the UEFA Europa League , but it wasn’t all good news on Thursday night.
In the 43rd minute, and after assisting Castellanos’ goal, Nuno Tavares was injured and had to leave the field. Marco Baroni explained the situation and gave the Italian fans some rest.
“It shouldn’t be anything serious. Fortunately, it seems to have stopped at the right time. He’s important for us because of the way we play abroad. We’ll reassess the situation tomorrow,” he revealed after the final whistle.
The Portuguese international has had quite a few injuries in his career, and this season he has already suffered one that has kept him out of action for a number of games, including one for Portugal in the Nations League .
