First reinforcement for Vítor Pereira on the way
Wolverhampton set to sign centre-back
Emmanuel Agbadou , defender for French side Stade de Reims , is undergoing medical tests this Monday at Wolverhampton , who are preparing to close this deal for 18 million euros, plus two million for objectives, reports The Athletic.
The Ivorian international will sign a contract until 2029, with an option for a further year, according to the same source, and thus appears to be the first winter reinforcement for Vítor Pereira’s team, which is lacking a central defender.
Due to the serious injury to Yerson Mosquera, who is out for the rest of the season, and the fact that the team plays with a three-centre centre-back formation, this has become a priority position to reinforce. Nélson Semedo and Matt Doherty , both full-backs, have been playing as one of the centre-backs in recent games.
Agbadou is in his third season at Stade de Reims and is already one of the team’s captains. He has played 15 games this season, for a team that is 11th in Ligue 1. He is also a regular starter for Ivory Coast, usually ahead of Sporting ‘s Ousmane Diomande .
