Amorim reveals rule he imposes on himself “until the end of his career”
Coach also comments on the «intensity» of Casemiro, who will be leaving the club, and the relationship he had with Cristiano Ronaldo in the National Team

Ruben Amorim gave an interview to TNT Sports Brasil in which he addressed, above all, the difficulties felt in these two months in charge of Manchester United , months that, however, were also «some of the most special» that the coach has ever experienced and after which he can already see some of his influence on the team: «The positions are there, but there is no time to practice the routines and without that, there is a lack of aggressiveness when on the ball.»
«This has a lot to do with understanding the space, if the opponent blocks a certain space, we, with routines, can understand that the game has already changed, and without training it is impossible to do this», he also said, adding: «When there is training, the players have the answers, at the moment we still don’t have many answers to the difficulties.»
Casemiro ‘s lack of use was also addressed, at a time when the midfielder is being linked with a move away from United: «It depends a lot on the player’s form. Casemiro has other things these days. His intelligence, his understanding of the game, his understanding of where the ball is going to land, but we are in a league where I see that, even in European competitions, the difference in intensity is huge.»
“I feel that this team also needs players with a very high intensity and sometimes we don’t have that. But we all know the quality of Casemiro and everything he has won. So I have nothing to say about that. It’s just a choice,” he said.
Amorim then recalled the times when he shared the dressing room, in the Portuguese national team , with Cristiano Ronaldo , with whom he does not have “a very close relationship”: “We always talk when we meet. We know that he is a legend at this club, an example. For our country he is someone very important, but nothing more than that. He is an example for all Portuguese people and a legend at this club.”
Finally, the Portuguese admitted to being “weaker” than other people when it comes to online consumption on social media. “I don’t have social media. Since I started my coaching career, it was a choice. I don’t consider myself stronger than others, I even consider myself weaker because I am fully aware that if I read everything, it will affect me. It was a rule I set when I started coaching and that I will follow until the end of my career.”
