Türkiye draws with Wales in Nations League

Benfica forward missed a penalty in the 89th minute

Turkey, with Benfica players Orkun Kokçu and Kerem Akturkoglu starting, drew goalless on the fifth day of group B4 of the Nations League .

Turkey dominated the first half, but were unable to score. In the 38th minute, there was a scare with Akturkoglu . The Benfica forward was stepped on in the area and suffered a lot of injuries, but ended up staying on the field.

In the second half, Orkun Kokçu , in the 66th minute, fired a free kick slightly over the Wales goal. A minute later, Enes Unal came very close to scoring, after a great play by Yunus Akgun .

In the 89th minute, Turkey were awarded a penalty, but Akturkoglu , called upon to take the penalty, hit the post and was unable to open the scoring.

]Turkey remain in first place with 11 points, while Wales have nine. Iceland, who defeated Montenegro, have seven points. Montenegro are relegated to League C.
