A “minor who made racist insults” towards Vinícius Júnior has been “prevented” from accessing stadiums where official competitions are held for a year, Real Madrid announced on Friday . The incident took place on 18 February at the Vallecas Stadium during the 25th round of La Liga , which ended in a 1-1 draw between Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano .

In a statement, Real Madrid added that the youngster “has shown his regret” and sent a letter apologizing to the Brazilian international. The fan agreed to carry out the socio-educational activities proposed to him by the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office and will pay the “financial penalty imposed on him for his behavior.”

“Since June, there have been four legal proceedings, both in the criminal and juvenile jurisdictions, which have ended with the punishment of the perpetrators of the intolerable racist acts that were committed against Real Madrid players, both in the different stadiums and on forums and social networks, ” conclude the Merengues.
