Ginola accused of not wanting to meet his granddaughter
Former French international stopped responding to his daughter’s messages about the birth of her granddaughter; Joy Ginola was only recognized as the daughter of the former PSG and Newcastle player in 2021
David Ginola, a former French international now 57, is embroiled in a tense family controversy after telling his daughter, who only recently admitted it, that he had no interest in meeting her unborn granddaughter.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Joy Pinquier Ginola, who is only 28 years old, revealed that the former athlete stopped responding to her messages and questioned Ginola’s role as a father and grandfather.
“I am very happy that I am about to become a mother, but I doubt that my father knows my daughter. He stopped responding to my messages after I sent him the 3D ultrasound… The way he is treating us is not right. He is acting like a casual acquaintance, and not like my father,” Joy Ginola began by saying, reinforcing that she will fight for her daughter’s rights.
“I told him that he can deny my existence as much as he wants, but my daughter will always have his DNA… my daughter will have the same blood, which runs through all our veins and I will fight for her rights,” he concluded.
The relationship between Davide and Joy Ginola was never easy, as it was the result of an extramarital affair, at a time when his wife was pregnant with the couple’s first child.
For several years, Ginola called his daughter “a mistake of youth”, however, he was forced, in 2021, to recognize her after being sued for refusing to take DNA tests.
