Villarreal beat Mallorca with a goal in the 90+4th minute and put pressure on Barcelona

Ayoze scored the winning goal, which allowed the team to provisionally climb to second place in La Liga, one point behind the Catalan side.

Mallorca hosted Villarreal this Saturday at the Son Moix stadium, in a game counting towards the 5th round of La Liga , and were defeated by the yellow submarine, whose winning goal was scored by Ayoze Pérez in the 90+4′ minute.

Villarreal were the first team to score , with a goal from Cape Verdean Logan Costa in the 27th minute. The visitors dominated much of the match and found plenty of space to shoot (they scored 21 to Mallorca’s 9). However, an own goal from Raúl Albiol in the 57th minute levelled the score.

The home team tried to hold on to the result, but in the 90+4′ minute, Ayoze scored the goal that gave Villarreal their 3rd victory in the Spanish league.

With this result, Villarreal provisionally climbs to second place, with eleven points, one less than Barcelona who still have to play on Sunday against Girona (3.15pm). Mallorca, on the other hand, remains with the same five points, occupying 10th place in La Liga.

After Villarreal ‘s triumph , Espanyol hosted and beat Alavés 3-2. Javier Puado was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick (21′, 56′, and 63′ [gp]), while Tomás Conechny (35′) and Naheul Tenaglia (68’) scored for the visitors.
