Anthony Lopes out of Lyon’s Europa League squad
Internacional did not find a new club on the market and is now not among coach Pierre Sage’s options
Anthony Lopes was left out of the final list of Lyon players who will participate in the league phase of the Europa League .
After having communicated his desire to leave the club in the last market, the Portuguese international and former captain of Les Gones was informed by the French club that he was not included in coach Pierre Sage’s plans, having, together with Lovren and Paul Akouokou , been included in the list of players released.
Despite interest from Saudi Arabia and Strasbourg last summer, the transfer did not materialise and the 2016 European champion with Portugal is expected to stay at Lyon until the end of his contract, which ends in June 2025.
It is worth remembering that the Portuguese player sought to leave the French club after losing his starting spot in goal to Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri , Lyon ‘s reinforcement in the winter transfer window.
Still on the subject of Lyon ‘s registration for the UEFA competition, winger Rayan Cherki was also left out of the list, but there is still the possibility that he will be included in list B.
