Barcelona releases new images of what Spotify Camp Nou will look like after renovations
Barcelona have released new images of what Spotify Camp Nou will look like after ongoing renovations. There are some new features confirmed and others that have been changed. For example, the electronic scoreboard will not be 360 degrees, but will have three large screens.
Barcelona is carrying out renovations at its stadium, Spotify Camp Nou, to follow the same line as Real Madrid and transform it into a venue that is not just for football matches. The “merengue” stadium already has several events scheduled, such as The Night of Ibai Llanos or the Taylor Swift and Duki concerts , which represents a source of income parallel to sports, something that could be very useful in Barcelona’s budget.
This Tuesday, the club organized a meeting with the College of Architects of Catalonia to present plans for the renovated structure and there are some new features. One of the most striking is the electronic scoreboard, which there was speculation that it could be 360 degrees. In the end, it will be a triple installation with three large screens.
The press room will have a certain slope towards the area where the coach sits. In this way, the visibility of journalists will be facilitated and the environment will be given a more elegant appearance. Interestingly, the Catalans presented this part of their project with Xavi Hernández sitting at the head coach’s table, despite the fact that he has already announced that he will leave his position on June 30th.
The VIP areas are of great importance for the new Spotify Camp Nou, in order to compete with complexes like the Bernabéu when it comes to hosting events that have nothing to do with football. They were remodeled to accommodate open, diaphanous spaces with islands for selling drinks and food. There is also a panoramic terrace from where you can admire both the countryside and the city of Barcelona. It is about 80 meters above ground level.
