Luis Enrique ‘exaggerates’ his sincerity when explaining why he replaced Mbappé: ‘Very simple’

In an interview after the 1-1 draw with Rennes , this Sunday (25), in the French Championship , PSG coach , Luis Enrique , spoke about the strange situation experienced with striker Kylian Mbappé at the club.

In this Sunday’s game, in turn, Luis Enrique chose to replace Mbappé in the 2nd half, something very rare – even more so because, at the time of the change, the team from the capital was losing the match 1-0.

When asked about the topic, the Spaniard was sincere and stated that, in this final stretch of the season, he wants to start training his team without the star, as he knows he will not be able to count on him in 2024/25.

“(The decision to replace Mbappé) is something very simple: sooner or later, we will have to get used to playing without Kylian,” he argued.

“So, when I want him to play, he will play. When I want him not to play, it will be the same thing”, he added.
Despite the farewell atmosphere, Mbappé continues to have excellent numbers this season.

To date, the killer has scored 32 goals in 32 matches, in addition to contributing 7 assists.

Real Madrid has advanced negotiations with Kylian’s staff to have the star as a free agent after July.

Until the end of the season, Mbappé has a chance to win the French Championship, the French Cup and the Champions League before saying goodbye to Paris.
